Tournament of Roses Parade 2008

The Rose Parade, hosted every year in Pasadena, is a New Year's Day highlight. People camp out overnight to view the intricately detailed floats, each made up of thousands of flowers, as the floats move down Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena.

DWP Light Festival

Every year, the Los Angeles DWP puts up various Christmas light displays in Griffith Park (the home of the Griffith Observatory, best known from the film Rebel Without A Cause).
