Thelonius Monk Institute Jazz Festival

Sunday, October 26th, 2008

It was a good concert. We were at the Kodak Theater (where they have the Oscar show) and it showcased the finalists for the institute’s scholarship this year. The highlight was a set featuring B. B. King (the honoree this year), Bono, and The Edge. It was a great event and showcased a worthy organization.

I have one of those magnet sets that you write zen poetry with. Here’s what my fridge looks like today.

The Pacific Ocean is beautiful

This is a picture I took at Topanga Beach some time back. I was testing out a new lens (the Canon 10-22 EF-S, very impressive lens by the way) and wanted to snap a nice panorama.  Enjoy!

The Beach Overlooking the Pacific

Doesn’t seem like it was that far back, but time flies and all that. There’s a couple of galleries on my photo site (with more coming). Here was the first gallery which covered our departure, our first day at sea, and our stop at Nova Scotia.

I enjoyed my time in Canada. It’s only my second trip out of the country, but it was very different from Tijuana. Our cab driver was really friendly and answered all the questions we had. Whether he actually knew what he was talking about is another matter, but it all sounded plausible.

This was a picture I took the last day as we entered New York Harbor. Enjoy!

Welcome to my blog

I’ll be sharing whatever comes to mind, but I won’t actually. I have a lot of random thoughts, so I’ll actually endeavor to make this have a focus. I’ll probably talk about photography a good deal. You’ll see photos soon. I’ll also talk about computers. Mostly Macs, since that’s almost all I use these days.
